Simple User Controls
With just 3 knobs you can control every function of the Model r1. The Navigation dial (the larger one in the middle) allows you to scroll through menus, and push to select an item. The Mode knob is used to choose a sound source, or enter the Setup mode to set various preferences. The Volume knob adjusts output level, and turns the r1 on or off when pressed. In iPod Mode, touch controls illuminate around the Navigation dial—which allow for easy music navigation for your iPod or iPhone.
Clean, Compact Design with True Stereo Sound
The Model r1's contemporary, sophisticated design complements any decor—and its compact size allows it to fit easily on almost any table, shelf, or desk. It is available in glossy white or black (both with a glossy black front panel and removable speaker grille).
By adding the optional Cue Speaker Model s1, the r1 is transformed into a true stereo system. Since the s1 is a separate unit, you can set them apart and allow for the left and right channels to act independently. This provides a deep, immersive sound that is not possible with two speakers in a single unit.
Graphic Display
The Model r1's 3” graphic LCD
display provides a variety of information, including iPod and iPhone menus. The current time and date are shown when the r1 is turned off. Details of alarm settings appear in the upper right corner, including the time each alarm is set for and the sound source chosen.
The display dims automatically in a darkened room, or you can have it turn off completely—which is great if you have the r1 on a bedside table and you don't want any light in the room while you are trying to fall asleep.
You can also get a Customized Display. For $49 we'll program the r1's display to show your own photo, illustration, logo, or message every time you turn it on. A great gift!
The cs1 Speaker
The custom-made, bi-amplified cs1 driver—in the Model r1 radio/dock and Model s1 Satellite Speaker—produces amazingly rich, warm, dynamic sound. Learn more on the r1 Technology page.
Remote Control
The Model r1 comes with a compact, reliable remote control that provides access to all major functions—including iPod/iPhone menu navigation and song selection. You can even set your alarm and trigger snooze with it. And, it works within 25 feet of the r1 using IR technology.
iPod and iPhone Apps
Place your iPod or iPhone on the r1's Apple Universal Dock and you can listen to your favorite apps without headphones. With all the audio apps available today you can easily find ones that cater to your music or talk preferences, and they all sound great through the r1. You can control the volume and other basic playback functions of most apps with the r1's remote or front panel knobs when the iPod Display option is set to "On iPod".
