Cue proudly supports the Garvan Institute of Medical Research - Australia’s leading breast cancer researchers.

On Thursday 15 September 2016 the Garvan Institute and the Young Garvan committee hosted FashionLab 2016, which saw fashion and beauty come together to raise funds and awareness for Garvan’s important work and commitment to finding a cure for cancer. All funds raised through FashionLab help support and raise awareness for Dr Samantha Oakes of The Garvan Institute’s breast cancer research. 

 

FashionLab is Sydney’s most fashionable fundraiser. The exciting event was hosted by Hollywood Entertainment Reporter Richard Reid, Cue’s own Kate Bielenberg, Chris Paspaly and Alphie Sadsad. Kate represented the company with great pride and excitement, particularly when she was the live auctioneer for a beautiful Dion Lee dress on the evening.

Following an inspirational and emotional speech by Dr Samantha Oakes and Jane Wiggers de Vries, a breast cancer survivor at just 24 years of age, guests were treated to a fashion show with new season Summer 2016 looks from Cue paired with Paspaley jewellery and Bobbi Brown makeup. 

Cue’s Selena Rigley, Kirsty Brockhoff and Kate Bielenberg worked together with Leonie Walton from The Garvan Institute to create the spectacular collaboration for the evening. We had a total of eight fabulous outfits exhibited on IMG models at the event.

Leonie Walton wrote to Cue this morning: “We had a wonderful night, and I cannot thank you and your amazing team enough. They are all so special and I look forward to working with them more and more”

With $50,000 raised, it was a great night of fashion and fundraising. It is with great pride Cue partners with the Garvan Institute of Medical Research.
